California’s High Gas Prices Climbing Over $5.00 Per Gallon – Again
By Katy Grimes | California Globe
Where’s Gavin Newsom? He’s not commenting on this on his podcast?
Last month the Globe reported on a new study by USC Professor Michael Mische found that the factors which have contributed to California’s high gasoline prices over 50-years are self-imposed by state officials and politicians. It turns out that California is its own worst enemy.
In Sacramento, a gallon of gas will cost you:
$4.99 for regular, $5.20 for mid, $5.41 for premium, and $5.09 for diesel.
The highest gas prices in California are in Mono County at $5.85 per gallon, and Humboldt County at $5.74 per gallon.
Compare California’s gas prices with the national averages:
$3.26 for regular, $3.74 for mid, $4.09 for premium, and $3.64 for diesel.

The Democratic Party is polling about 27% approval—and sinking.
In 2024, it lost the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and both the popular vote and the Electoral College, 312-226.
In 2024, Donald Trump won over 46% of the Hispanic vote, including a majority of Hispanic men. Trump also likely captured 26% of the black male vote, doubling his 2020 total.
In 2024, Trump increased his 2020 vote total in every single state. And he won 89% of all the counties in the United States.
On every issue, Democrats sided with strident leftist movements rather than the majority of Americans.
Space42 and Viasat Announce Partnership to Explore Shared Global 5G Non-Terrestrial Network Initiative
Space42, (ADX: SPACE42), the UAE based AI-powered SpaceTech company with global reach, and Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a leading global mobile satellite services (MSS) operator in L- and S-band spectrum, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore ecosystem partnership options for developing a 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) initiative. This collaboration between Space42 and Viasat is a major step towards expanding global satellite connectivity, enabling both companies to address the growing opportunities in direct-to-device (D2D) satellite communications to smartphones, narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT), as well as existing and next-generation MSS services. Independent research studies project the size of the satellite segment of the D2D market to reach $50B in 2032[1], in addition to more traditional enterprise and government MSS market segments that also hold substantial growth potential.
During the first phase of this partnership, Space42 and Viasat will conduct a series of partner-funded technical and commercial studies to develop a shared, or multi-tenant, multi-orbit 5G NTN infrastructure employing a standards-based open architecture. The infrastructure is intended to support use of a broad range of L-band, S-band and terrestrial spectrum to enable global roaming among regional network operators. The companies are exploring new technologies and sustainable system designs to make satellite networks more efficient and ready for 5G models and ensure compliance with the varying telecommunications regulatory frameworks of nations around the world. The collaboration follows industry best practices and guidelines developed by the Mobile Satellite Services Association (MSSA), leveraging licensed MSS satellite spectrum and open interoperable architectures based on 3GPP standards to ensure seamless integration with global telecommunications networks.
