Interview with New York Times bestselling author James Lee Burke

SD METRO magazine presents its second author interview. James Lee Burke, author of about 40 novels, sits down with veteran Connecticut reporter Steve Goode to talk about his newest novel, Flags on the Bayou, a story set during the Civil War in Louisiana.

Burke talks with Steve about novel’s characters and what the book is really about, which many might find surprising. Burke also discusses the advantages fiction writers have over journalists and non-fiction writers in describing and understanding the human condition, especially the human heart.

Finally, Burke also discusses his upcoming short story book, entitled Harbor Lights, which will be released in early 2024, and his upcoming book in the Dave Robicheaux series, entitled Clete, scheduled to be released in June 2024.
