Connect Presents 2013’s

Most Innovative New Product Awards

A breakthrough rifle sight for the military that corrects for aiming errors and an internal combustion engine that increases fuel efficiency and reduces greenhouse gas emissions are two of the products recognized by Connect Friday at the 26th annual Most Innovative New Product Awards.

The organization honored San Diego-based companies and innovative leaders who launched groundbreaking new products in nine different categories in the past year.

In addition to the nine companies honored for their outstanding new products, two awards for exemplary industry contributions were given. The William W. Otterson Award, for local technologies or products that have demonstrated a significant positive impact on society and our quality of life, was formally presented to Life Technologies for empowering breakthroughs in genomics. The Distinguished Contribution Award for Life Sciences and Technology Innovation was awarded posthumously to former CEO Duane Roth, who died in August. It will be renamed in his honor.
