A celebration of exceptional people is always off to a great start when it is hosted at the University Club. And that’s what SD METRO Magazine CEO and Publisher Bob and Rebeca Page did
Guests arrived Jan. 13 just in time for spectacular sunset views which changed into sparkling city lights as the night progressed.
Wine and delicious appetizers were de rigueur. Mini crabcake sandwiches and coconut shrimp were among the standouts by Executive Chef Eric Mauritzen.
And then it was time for awards. A spectacular list of recipients including Paul Pfingst, Scott Peters, Yolanda Walther-Meade, John Gomez, Mitch Mitchell, Jeff Light and Vince Mudd.
Gomez, a recipient two years in a row now, had this to say: “I am tremendously honored to receive this award and to be included in such an outstanding and diverse group of San Diego community leaders.” Scott Peters added this: “It is a great honor to be recognized as a ‘Mover,’ and it was a great evening, I really appreciate all of the sponsors for recognizing my efforts.”
Awardee Yolanda Walther-Meade made a broad, sweeping remark regarding her fellow honorees. “The extraordinarily talented 2011 SD Metro Movers to Watch are making incredible contributions in fields encompassing industry, health care, development, the arts and philanthropy — thereby ensuring San Diego’s sustainable regional development. I am incredibly appreciative of having the opportunity to work towards enriching our regional legacy, as well as being so honored.”
Deservedly so. For more details on the 2011 SD Metro Movers, please go to SanDiegoMetro.com to view the January issue.
