Nominations are now open for San Diego Metropolitan Magazine’s 11th annual 40 Under 40 awards. The nomination period ends May 31. Isis Pharmaceuticals Buys Land for New Headquarters

Isis Pharmaceuticals has purchased property in the Carlsbad Oaks North Business Park for its new headquarters, which it will occupy after its existing lease expires in 2011. The property is 12.35 acres. The seller, Techbilt Construction Corp, modified two existing lots to create a lot for Isis. Carlsbad Oaks North totals 414 acres and is in the 600-acre master planned Carlsbad Oaks development. Chuck McNary and Ted Cuthbert of Colliers International represented Techbilt Construction in the sales transaction and Russ Sande, Glen Friedrich and Don Mitchell of CresaPartners represented Isis.

Goodwill Industries Purchases Industrial Building

Goodwill Industries of San Diego County has purchased a 31,000-square foot industrial warehouse building in Linda Vista for $3.13 million. The building, located at 5232 Lovelock St., will be used for sorting and distribution as well as for the operation of Goodwill’s e-commerce business.

Goodwill was represented in the sale by Bryan Cunningham of Cushman & Wakefield. Tim Mills, also of Cushman & Wakefield, represented the seller, T.A.R., a California general partnership.

Party City Leases Space in San Marcos

Party City Corp., dba Party City, has signed a 120-month lease for 13,600 square feet of retail space in Grand Plaza, 101-197 Las Posas Road, Suite B, in San Marcos. The lease with Grand Plaza LLC is valued at $2,170,560. Brian Cunningham and Nick Alford of Cushman & Wakefield represented the lessor. Don Moser of Retail Insite represented Party City.

Bailey Gardner Adds Staff

Maria Swanson and Ryan Thompson have joined Bailey Gardner as advertising account supervisors. The agency also hired former interns Sayamon Riddang and Jan Jenkins — Riddang as graphic designer and Jenkins as PR account coordinator — and promoted Heather Roth to traffic manager and Kevinie Woo to PR account executive.
