Kent Aden & Jim DiMatteo

Kent Aden and Jim DiMatteo are set to receive the Spirit of Life Award from the City of Hope’s San Diego Construction Industries Alliance during a ceremony June 21 aboard the USS Midway.

Aden, executive v.p. of The Otay Ranch Co., has been involved in homebuilding and master-planned community development for nearly 30 years in South San Diego County. A licensed architect, he is past president of the San Diego BIA and chair of the 2008 Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco.

DiMatteo is a Navy Top Gun pilot and restaurant entrepreneur who owns Jimmy Love’s in the Gaslamp and is preparing to open Nico’s Steak and Chop House at the Otay Ranch Town Center. He was recently named Trailblazer of the Year by the Gaslamp Quarter Association in recognition of his leadership in the development of the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum and in attracting the Red Bull Air Race World Series.
