Christine Tempesta

Christina Tempesta, founder and president of KiddieCorp. Inc. in San Diego, is the SBA’s Woman Owned Small Business Award winner for 2008. KiddieCorp, which was founded in 1986, provides on-site children’s programs for kids 6 weeks to 17 years of age at more than 175 events a year. These customized child care services are given to attendees of conventions, trade shows and corporate events throughout the United States and Canada. Last year, the company had $1.2 million in revenue.

KiddieCorp clients have included American Academy of Pediatrics in Chicago and California Gift Show. The company also provides child care at all home games of the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. KiddieCorp assisted the American Academy of Pediatrics in putting together a convention child care guidelines document, reportedly the only one of its kind.

Tempesta has served as an adviser to the San Diego mayor’s office on child care issues and received an Award of Excellence from the Destination Management Executives in 2007 for a Family Cafe Youth Program.
