Receive Woodrow Wilson Center Awards

Native American leader Anthony Pico and builder Douglas Barnhart will receive awards from the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution at a Feb. 28 dinner at the U.S. Grant Hotel Downtown. Pico, who was chair of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians for 24 years, will receive the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service. Barnhart, chair of Barnhart Inc., a company he founded in 1983, will receive the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship. “Southern California has benefited greatly from the distinguished careers of both honorees, as well as their considerable impact on the economic growth, civic well-being and cultural vitality of the greater San Diego area,” says Lee H. Hamilton, president and director of the Wilson Center.
